A lot can be said about the charming coastal city of my country. Some may say that its hot, humid and downright boring.Others may say that having full access to the Indian Ocean makes what previously mentioned null and void cause you have white sandy beaches and an infinite pool at your disposal. And others may retort that in spite of its historical influence it has become the second biggest city in the country and one of the most busiest ports in the East African region thus making it...less boring idk.But for me, she is simply my hometown.
I lived there my entire life before having to move to the great Nairobi and yes.The city can be dull.If you're looking for architecture that goes beyond the 1950s im sorry you will be getting none of that at least in the town due to her historical significance however you will enjoy the weather. It is esensially a tropical paradise everyday there and I think that has contributed to the stereotypical coastal laziness that is rumoured in every coastal town. The residential areas are usually more bustling with multiple activities to do though transport outside the matatus and bodas that litter the streets can be really expensive and if you're a tourist that knows how to drive you might as well rent a car
Anyways I always go back home for the holidays and it's a new experience everytime. This time I spent most of my time with family and friends instead of seeking out any new adventures that may have popped up in the area.I never jet skied or went on a boat ride but I can always do that next time. What else? There's a bowling alley after 10 years of not having a bowling alley in the entire county (Third world country things am I right?) and thats generally it.Here are some of the activities I managed to shoot while there:
